We want you to be able to trust what you copy from this site. This page explains how articles are made and what to do when something is wrong.
Where our facts come from
We rely on primary sources, in this order:
- The official Godot documentation and release notes on godotengine.org
- The repository, README and changelog of the plugin or tool we write about
- Announcements from the maintainers
Community discussions can point us to a topic, but they are not used as proof for a fact.
How we check an article
- Facts, version numbers and dates are compared with the source before publishing
- Commands and code are checked against the official API reference and docs for the Godot version named in the article
- We say which Godot version an article is about
- We only say we tested something ourselves when an article explicitly says so. If a snippet was checked against the docs but not run, we do not call it tested
- Every article shows an Updated date when it has been revised
How we use AI
Articles are prepared with the help of AI tools, then checked against the sources above and reviewed before publishing. AI is a drafting aid, not a source. We do not publish invented quotes, statistics or testimonials.
When we update articles
Version-specific articles are revisited when a new Godot release changes the facts. Pages such as the Godot versions guide are checked with every release. When we change an article in a meaningful way, the Updated date changes and larger changes get a short note at the end.
Corrections
Found a wrong command, an outdated version or a broken link? Tell us:
- Use the Report a correction form on GitHub
- Or email godotawesome@mgonnacrusht.co.uk
We fix confirmed mistakes as soon as we can and update the article date.
Independence
GodotAwesome currently shows no ads and no affiliate links. If that changes, sponsored and affiliate content will be clearly labeled, and editorial decisions will stay independent of it.
Guest authors
Guest articles follow the same rules, plus a few more for authors. See the contributing guide.
